General Secretary of Chinese Associations of TCM Cao Zhen Kui in his opening speech told:
"It is a very interesting meeting, because the Association spares very much attention exactly to the academic questions. Director Wang Chang Guo thinks that for the achievement of higher results in our sphere of activity, the Association must put academic questions at the first place. In our secretariat we constantly study new ideas, touching the questions of theory and ways of thinking. We summed up the results of the development of Chinese medicine and distinguished the chain of basic problems related to development of the TCM science. They consist, foremost, in the lack of innovations. Firstly, we have not enough researches in the field of cultural heritage of TCM, secondly, we need the instruments of innovation - modern scientific and technical facilities, and also innovative way of thinking in interpretation and scientific explanation of the methods, traditions and philosophical conceptions of Traditional Chinese medicine.
From the point of view of academic tradition, we continue to spare the special attention to the questions of academic heritage. Minister Van thinks that first of all it is necessary to strengthen an academic value, and secondly - authoritativeness, thirdly - comprehensiveness, fourthly - efficiency. It is necessary to investigate deeply the question concerning the academic value of TCM, to support to development of schools in realization of researches.
Image Medicine (Chinese Image Medicine) had been effectively used for already many years, especially in foreign countries. I have visited the research institute Kundawell, and today invited its main specialists here, to discuss Chinese Image Medicine and to demonstrate its methods. I hope that we will succeed to discuss all issues from the scientific point of view, and that will serve to understand them better, and will open the ways for further academic researches and acquisition of useful knowledge.”
After the general secretary speech the reports of other participants took place.
Professor Sung Yun Zhan, the leader of the International connections department of Chinese Association of TCM had made a report. He briefly told about the last two years’ work in the field of development of the original thinking and innovations in the TCM field, and also about the substantive paragraphs of theoretical research in TCM, about importance of the innovative and traditional thinking for the development of the academic theory of medicine.
The academician Wang Yong Yong told that the science of image thinking had become one of science departments concerning brain researches.
Professor of Beijing TCM Institute, director of the department of constitution of man at Chinese Association of TCM, the leader of the research project "973" "The Original thinking of TCM and its connection with the health", - Wang Chi, stressed the importance of the thinking model, which is based on understanding of Energy, Body and Information. And marked that the work that professor Xu Mingtang is doing is the bright example of the original thinking and research model.
Then director Sun invited to make a report several specialists of Kundawell institute. The first who made a report was the leader of the academic department of Kundawell institute Li Jun - he told about history of the Bien Chue School, about culture, heritage, authors and other aspects of Chinese Image Medicine. The second representative of institute was professor Xu Mingtang, who told about the history of origin of the image science, about a scientific theory, basic conception, estimation of efficiency, international influence, etc.
After professor Xu Mingtang’s speech, director Sun told about the experience and understanding of Chinese Image Medicine:
"Spending the last five years in researches of Chinese Image Medicine, I have understood that in this science basis is the original thinking of TCM theory, image thinking, the main theory is built on understanding of life model of Dzhin-Qi-Sheng or Matter-Energy-Information. All of these are the leading principles of TCM theory for adjusting of the channels and meridians, Qi and considerations of human organism, as the unified integral system.
During a discussion, professor Xu Mingtang was asked some questions about a theory and practical application of Chinese Image Medicine.
Then the main experts of the meeting held a closed conference, and after this it was officially declared: "Chinese Image Medicine, which was founded by professor Xu Mingtang is included to the register of TCM, its methods of diagnostics and treatment, theory and practice, correspond to bases of TCM. Chinese Image Medicine can be used for treatment of intractable diseases, as the new, innovative method. Successful results of this method abroad are talking for themselves. We recommend to further develop the theory of pulse diagnostics and using of the image thinking.”
Finally, all experts cheered for the resolution, accepted on the basis of unanimous approval.
Professor Xu Mingtang expressed deep gratitude to all experts for acknowledge and support, and declared that would make even greater efforts for further development of Chinese Image Medicine not only in China, but also abroad.
